The New Shoe Day Community 5K

Join our virtual event and help us meet our $15,000 donation match

What is the event?

The New Shoe Day Community 5K is a virtual race that can be done from wherever you are. Just lace up on August 10 and head out on a 5K run or walk.

Whether you choose to run or walk, your participation helps bring purpose to your movement and new shoes to youth in need.

Run, walk, and help us hit $15K

Thanks to a generous member of the New Shoe Day community, all donations at and around the event up to $15,000 will be matched as an additional sum to support the organization.

You’ll have the opportunity to donate and support through the virtual 5K, and can donate further on the event page here.

Register for the 5K below.

Come Celebrate with us

In addition to the virtual 5K, those local to Indianapolis are welcome to join us at the Nora location of Athletic Annex for a celebration of New Shoe Day — an opportunity to gather the local community over refreshments at 8:00 am on August 10th.

Your questions, answered

  • The New Shoe Day Community 5K will take place virtually on August 10th, 2024. Run from wherever you are and support the mission through fundraising leading up to the event.

  • We welcome all members of the New Shoe Day community, the Indianapolis running community, and those who simply want to support out mission—empowering youth to thrive. Invite your friends and family to participate too. The more community members we get to register, the more shoes we're able to provide to Indiana Youth.

  • Get as many of your friends, family, and community to register as possible. For every two participants of the 5K, we're able to give a new pair of shoes to a child in need.

  • The 5K costs $25 per registrant. 100% of this purchase goes to our mission of providing shoes to youth in need, and towards our match goal of $15,000. You may also donate beyond the race through our main donation page.

  • For those in the Indianapolis community, we will be gathering for an in-person celebration at the Nora location of Athletic Annex at 8:00 am on the event day, August 10th.

“Proper footwear is sometimes the make-or-break point for whether a student will play a sport. Our partnership with New Shoe Day has alleviated the concern of not having. We can thank New Shoe day in being a part of the positive change we are seeing in our athletes."
